OK Rabbinic Coordinator, Rabbi Sholom Ber Hendel recently traveled to a factory that makes products certified OK-D. This plant also produces bottled water (not certified by the OK). During his recent visit the ozone tank used for bottled water broke, so the facility pasteurized the water instead and the water was approved by state regulations for sale.
Now the company is contemplating whether to fix the ozone tank or to continue to pasteurize the water. If that company decided to continue pasteurizing the water, they will be selling dairy water!
